Projects

4th Graders are currently working on Character Can Projects. Projects for all 4th graders are due Friday, April 10. 

This is a combination of reading a book and doing some online research.

 

Make sure to turn in these things for your final project:

1. Character Can

2. 5 index cards with written responses... follow your directions to complete these

3. Completed rubric with page #s in sections 1 & 2

4. "Where Did You Get Your Information?" page

(Number 3 & 4 is the last page of your directions back to back, just tear it off to turn it in.)

Research Help

Here are our recommended sites... you may use others but they must be reputable. 

(Great if you’re doing your report on famous leaders, inventors, scientists, explorers, and women)

Some Tips!

  • Read all project details as soon as your child brings the assignment home. Sometimes we request a sign and return slip to know you are aware of the project and the due date. 

  • Ask your child to describe the project to you.

  • Look ahead at your family calendar to set a long-term plan for project completion.

  • Mark the due date clearly on a family calendar and in your child's planner if they have not done so already.

  • Plan time on each available day for your child to do a part of the project.

  • Break the project up into manageable pieces with shorter due dates to help your child finish on time. 

  • If the project is a book report, preview the book as soon as your child brings it home. In all liklihood, the classroom teachers have already previewed the books or plan to look them over very shortly. If you have concerns about the book selected (reading or content level), reach out to your classroom teacher right away.

  • Have questions? Ask them early! We are happy to like but prefer to answer questions early so we can be sure we have done our job in communicating our expectations correctly.

  • Finishing early is a great morale boost for kiddos and we typically welcome finished projects in class early.
